The first night we really listened, instead of nodding, was the night the vocabulary stopped being decoration. Someone said lady drink and we thought cocktail. Someone said bar fine and one of us heard her price. Someone said I off tomorrow and we smiled as if we understood. We did not.
Most friction in this world is not mystery. It is two people using the same English word for two different bills.
This page is the decoder we wanted then. Every term gets four parts: what it means in plain words, what it means in a bar, what it means on a sideline meeting, and a short story or warning.
nongfan is built around sideline girls: adult women, 18 or over, who offer paid meetings as a side job next to university or ordinary work. That is what you browse here. Most of these words were born in bars, which are fun, well-oiled places, and we explain them with respect. A sideline meeting drops most of the house vocabulary, and that simplicity is one of the advantages we are convinced of. You still need the words, because the internet copies bar language onto listings.
None of the numbers below is a menu. They are typical ranges from public 2026 guides. The only honest figure is the one two people say out loud. We do not list OnlyFans.

The two clocks
Short time: often one to two hours. Say the clock.
Long time: often overnight. Say the morning.

Bar fine
barfine, BF
Plain meaning. A fee you pay the bar so a staff member can leave her shift with you.
In a bar. The house loses the drinks she would have sold and the hours she would have worked. The bar fine covers that. It goes to the till, often via the mamasan, not into her bag. You agree terms with her first, then pay the house, then go. Typical 2026 bands: about 300–1,200 baht in many beer bars, about 600–1,500 in many Bangkok go-gos, higher on Pattaya’s Walking Street. Short-time and long-time fines can differ in the same room.
What it is not. Not her fee, not the hotel, and not a package for whatever happens next. It does not mean she has agreed to anything except leaving the floor, and even that needs her yes.
On a sideline meeting. There is no bar fine, because there is no bar. One agreed number, paid to her. If a listing asks for a bar fine or a deposit before you have met, the word is borrowed or the fee is invented. The bar fine is a fair system for a room with staff to pay. We just like a meeting with no house in the middle.

Lady drink
LD
Plain meaning. A drink you buy for someone who works in the bar so she can sit with you, priced above the liquid because part of it is her commission.
In a bar. A small cola, juice, weak mixer, beer or shot. You are buying a slice of her time on the clock, not a cocktail. Typical 2026 bands: roughly 100–250 baht in beer bars and lady bars, 160–290 baht in go-gos. In many Bangkok lady bars the rhythm is one when she sits and another every half hour or so if you want her to stay. Stop, and she moves on. That is the job working. You can always decline. A smile is not an order. It is a pleasant system when you use it on purpose: you pay for good company, and she earns.
What it is not. Not a down payment on leaving, not her short-time fee, and not proof that she will go with you, or that she will not.
On a sideline meeting. No lady drink. You are not in her workplace and nobody earns commission on a glass. The conversation is the booking. If a chat asks you to buy a drink online first, you have left the glossary and entered a different kind of request.
Typical range, not a quote.
Short time
ST
Plain meaning. A shorter private meeting, often about one to two hours, always defined by what the two of you actually said.
In a bar. Usually leaving for a nearby short-time hotel, or going upstairs where the house has rooms. Soi 6 is the famous version. Her ST fee is agreed with her and paid to her, on top of the bar fine and the room if there are any. One shot and two hours are not automatically the same clock. If it matters, say so before anyone stands up.
What it is not. Not the bar fine, not a legally fixed package, and not unlimited anything inside a window unless you both said so. Agree time, place, money and what both of you are okay with.
On a sideline meeting. Same clock, no house fee. Agree the time directly. A short first meeting is still the calmer way to meet someone you only know from a page.
Long time
LT
Plain meaning. A longer private meeting, often overnight or until morning, and one of the most misunderstood phrases in the vocabulary.
In a bar. Overnight, until noon, and sleep next to you and nothing more after midnight are different arrangements. One person hears unlimited. The other hears a place to sleep until she has to go. Say the clock, the number, and what happens in the morning. The bar may charge a higher fine for LT. A guest-friendly hotel or a joiner fee is a third conversation.
What it is not. Not automatically a girlfriend for the night, and not a promise she will skip work tomorrow.
On a sideline meeting. LT still means the clock you agreed. Because sideline is part-time work beside a real week, her morning plans are not a bargaining trick. She may have class, a shop shift, a family obligation. That double calendar is the point of this directory, not an inconvenience to talk her out of.
Takeout
take-out, takeaway
Plain meaning. Leaving the venue with her. Not a food order.
In a bar. You pay the house to release her from the floor and go somewhere else, as opposed to staying inside for an in-house short time. The fine is the takeout fee to the house. Her fee is still separate. On streets like Soi 6, going upstairs is a room fee to the bar, not a departure, yet people still call it a bar fine. Ask: upstairs, or out of the bar? The prices differ.
What it is not. Not a sexual menu item. It is logistics: out of the building, or not.
On a sideline meeting. Takeout does not apply. There is no floor to take her off. You already meet outside a venue, at a hotel that takes an ID, or somewhere public first if you are sensible.
Off
two live meanings
Plain meaning. A word with two live meanings. Most of the confusion in this glossary lives here, so we always say which one we mean.
Off = bar fine
In bar English, staff often say off for the fee that lets her leave with you. You want off? may mean do you want to pay the house and go, not is tomorrow Sunday?
Off = day off
I off tomorrow usually means she is not rostered. On a real day off there is typically no bar fine, because the house is not losing a shift. Her time is still her time, and you still agree a number if you meet as a booking.
In a bar. The two collide in tomorrow I can off. Ask the extra half-sentence: your day off, or I pay the bar? Clumsy the first time, cheaper than learning the answer at the till.
What it is not. Not a free version of long time, and not automatically cheaper.
On a sideline meeting. Sideline is already off in the second sense: she fits a meeting around another life instead of punching out of a mamasan’s book. No house fee hides under the word. If a chat uses off as though you owed a bar, make them pick a meaning.
Honey pot
slang, not a till item
Plain meaning. Not a till item and not tightly defined. People use it for a sweeter, longer, boyfriend-shaped or sponsor-shaped arrangement, and as a warning about becoming the person who funds it. You will not find it on a chalkboard next to a price. There was once a Pattaya club called Honey Pot. That is a building, not this entry.
In a bar. Visitors use it two ways. The pattern: something that has left the one-night script. She stays over, days not hours, the talk sounds like a couple, and money starts to look like support instead of one agreed number. It sits near gik or sponsor. The warning: you feel chosen, you keep sending money after you fly home, and the warmth tracks the transfers. Writers call that person a walking ATM.
What it is not. Not a synonym for sideline. A sideline meeting on our site is an adult offering a part-time meeting beside a normal week. It can be warm and still be clear. Honey pot, in the warning sense, is what happens when the clarity dissolves and the money keeps moving.
On a sideline meeting. The same drift can happen anywhere people like each other, including with a sideline girl you meet more than once. If you want more than a short time or a long time, say what you offer and for how long. Do not pay for a future you cannot see, and do not confuse being needed with being chosen.
Also useful, in shorter form
Mamasan
The woman who runs the floor. You often pay the bar fine to her. If the bill looks wrong, talk to her calmly. Sideline has no mamasan. That is simpler, and nobody translates the rules for you.
Coyote
In some go-gos, a dancer who drinks and performs but is not there to leave. Confirm early. She can still be excellent company for the show.
Joiner
What some hotels charge, or refuse, when a visitor not on the booking comes up. Guest-friendly means allowed, usually after an ID check. It matters for bar nights and sideline meetings alike. Sort it out when you book.
Freelancer
On nongfan, always the street: an adult woman working a known stroll, no bar, no bar fine, no house. Direct and simple, which is its appeal. Sideline girls also work independently, but we never use this word for them, and we never use it for someone who approaches you in a club.
Sideline
The word our site is built on: an adult woman, 18 or over, who offers paid meetings as a side job beside university or an ordinary job. Part-time, found through a profile. Thai slang dek sideline means an adult part-timer, never anyone under 18. Not OnlyFans. We do not list that. And not a lady drink with extra steps.
Stay over
Close to long time, but about sleeping there. Still agree the morning.
How to use these words
Use them when they save confusion. Is that the bar fine or your number? Short time, about two hours? Off as in your day off? No extra points for stacking slang.
And know which world you are in. In a go-go, the system has names for everything because the system is the product, and it works. On a sideline meeting, most of that falls away. What remains is two adults, a time, a place, a number, and, if the listing is honest, the same person who was on the page.
How we use this on nongfan
On nongfan, the only vocabulary that should matter on a listing is time, place and her fee. When a profile borrows bar words, a bar fine, a deposit, an off that sounds like a house charge, treat it as a question to ask, not a bill to pay. Trust Level compares what public listings say across platforms. It cannot be bought. Start with higher-trust sideline profiles.
FAQ
Is a bar fine her price?
No. It is the house’s price for letting her leave the shift. Her fee is separate.
Do I need these words for a sideline meeting?
You need to know them so you never pay imaginary house fees. The meeting itself is time, place and her number.
What if she says off?
Ask whether she means her day off or paying the bar. They are not interchangeable.
Is honey pot an official extra?
No. It is slang for a longer, boyfriend- or sponsor-shaped arrangement, and a warning about becoming its budget.
Is a sideline girl a freelancer?
No. On nongfan, freelancer always means the street.
Are these prices fixed?
No. They are typical ranges from public guides. Agree the actual figure in the room or in the chat.
