What a sideline girl actually is (and is not)

Adult women with another life beside this work — that is what nongfan lists. Here is the word, what it is not, and why we built a directory around it.

Sideline is our mark

Who we are We used the other directories ourselves. We built nongfan around sideline girls, because those other pages kept handing us another professional roster.

Adults only. 18 or over, always. Licensed venues are generally for customers 20 and over. If there is any doubt about age, the meeting does not happen.

That is the short version of why this site exists.

Nongfan is built around sideline girls: adult women, 18 or over, who offer paid meetings as a side job, next to university or ordinary work. People call it hobby work or part-time work. That is what you browse here. It is not a bar format, not a third stage after a go-go, and not a subscription page. It is a different way of meeting, and after a lot of good nights in every other format, it is the one we are convinced of.

This page is the brand definition. The beginner guide walks the bar script. Sit-in versus go-go compares two rooms. The glossary decodes the words. Here we say what sideline means on this site, what it does not mean, what the other options do well, and why we still prefer this.

We did not want another professional roster. We wanted a Tuesday morning that was not a shift.

What a sideline girl actually is

A sideline girl is an adult woman who offers paid meetings beside a daytime life that is not this work.

She may be at university or college. She may work a shop, an office, a café, a shift that pays the rent. The meeting sits next to that week, after class, between jobs, on a free evening, not inside a house with a till. You do not pick her from a podium. You do not pay a mamasan to release her from a rotation. You find a profile, write first, usually on LINE or another chat, check that the person is real, and agree time, place and money directly.

In Thai slang she is often called dek sideline. Dek literally means kid, but in this slang it means a young adult doing part-time work, usually around university age. It is not a date of birth. It is not a costume. It never means anyone under 18, and on this site it never will.

What you pay is usually one agreed fee to her, plus a hotel or joiner charge if you use a room. There is no lady drink, because there is no house drink to commission. There is no bar fine, because there is no bar. Public 2026 guides often put Bangkok meetings roughly in the low thousands of baht, with bands around 2,500–5,000 baht for a meeting, more where English is stronger. That is their range, not our price list.

That simplicity is one of the reasons we prefer it. The price of the simplicity is homework, which is why Trust Level exists.

What the word is not

The internet stacks different ideas onto the same photos. Here is what sideline is not on nongfan.

Not OnlyFans

We do not list OnlyFans, creators, or subscription pages. A feed of photos behind a paywall is a different business. If that is what you want, this is the wrong site.

Not a minor

Student on nongfan always means an adult at university or college. Never a uniform, and never anyone under 18. Dek sideline is adult slang. Anything sexual involving anyone under 18 is a serious crime. If you are unsure about age, you leave.

Not a go-go rotation

A go-go dancer is a professional on a stage with a number, a mamasan, and a house that takes a bar fine when she leaves. That is a good night and a clear script. It is not sideline. Sideline has no podium and no house to release her from.

Not an agency booker

A real agency holds photos, replaces a no-show, and may refuse you. Plenty of pages that answer in thirty seconds with studio pictures are sideline listings borrowing a fancier noun, or something else entirely. Believe the arrangement, not the label on the photo. A full-time worker in a soapy shop or a bar on a payroll is not a sideline girl just because a page uses the word. If the shift is the truth, judge it as that format. It can still be a perfectly good night.

freelancer

On our site, always an adult woman working on a known street or stroll. No house, no bar fine, no listing you started from. Sideline girls also work independently, which is why people mix the words up, but we never call them freelancers. Someone who approaches you in a club does not get that word either.

escort

The word every profile likes. Useful when a real agency is involved. Decorative when it is not.

dek en

A paid entertainment companion for drinks and nights out, by the hour. Adult only. Dek here is slang, not an age.

gik

A semi-regular arrangement with an allowance and some ongoing tie. Still adults only.

dek sideline

Thai slang for that part-timer. Dek means kid. Here it does not mean a minor, it is not a date of birth, and on this site it only ever means an adult.

What lady bars, go-gos and the street do well

We are not recruiting you away from those rooms. They are nights worth having.

Lady bar / sit-in

Company at a table: food, often a live band, conversation paid for with lady drinks. In many of Bangkok’s big suburban rooms there is no bar fine, because the hostesses are not there to leave. What it does well: relaxed, social, unhurried. Plenty of our favourite evenings never left the table.

Go-go

A show: a stage, dancers in rotation, numbers you can quote to the mamasan. Bangkok: Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy, Patpong. Pattaya: Walking Street, LK Metro. Phuket: around Bangla Road. What it does well: a real show, a walk-in with no chat history, and a clear script. The dancers are professionals at a demanding job.

Beer bar

Often the friendliest cheap start to a night. An open counter, stools, a pool table, a cold drink, and a chat. When there is a bar fine, it is usually the cheapest in the country. A perfectly good place to end the evening if a drink and a conversation was all you wanted.

Freelancer — the street

We mean that word exactly as we always do: an adult woman on a known stroll. Direct. No house, no bar fine, no inbox to wait on. What is good about it: you see the person before anything is arranged, and nobody sits between you.

Those are appealing options. We still built a directory around something else.

Why we are convinced of sideline

We should be honest about taste. This page is not a United Nations report.

The more nights we spent in good rooms, the clearer it became what we personally wanted: a woman who has another life beside this work. Sideline is that. She may have a lecture tomorrow. She may have spent the afternoon at a shop counter. She may be awkward in English and very clear in LINE stickers. She may cancel because her actual job ran late. Annoying, and also proof that this is not her only stage.

The advantages we are sold on are our view, not a universal law.

  • The meeting sits beside her normal week rather than inside a shift.
  • There is no house between you: no lady-drink ladder, no bar fine, no badge number.
  • The conversation tends to feel closer to two people than to a customer and a shift.
  • You choose from listings rather than whoever happens to be on rotation that hour.

A good lady bar already leans toward company more than show. A sideline meeting simply takes that feeling out of the building. If you prefer the stage, our beginner guide walks you through it with pleasure. It is a great night. It is just not the one we built this site around.

The tone we want, every time: that room is a good night, and here is why we still prefer this.

The honest catch

Fairness cuts both ways. When there is no stage in front of you, the photos become the product. Other listing sites have little reason to say when those photos are copies: more pages meant more inventory, whether or not anyone checked that the woman who arrives matches the listing. We used those sites, got tired of being the last to notice, and built nongfan, and Trust Level, which cannot be bought.

Other guides put numbers on the problem. ThailandNightlife’s 2026 sideline explainer estimates that only about 60 to 70 percent of photos match, and that no-shows are common because part-timers have other lives. ThailandNightlife, sideline guide. That is their estimate, not our census. From our side: facts that jump around across platforms are a signal, studio sets with no living face behind them are a signal, and a deposit demanded by a stranger before anyone has met is usually the scam itself. Do the boring checks. A dated selfie. A short video call. A reverse-image search. Agree time, place and money in writing. Pay when you meet. Use a hotel that takes an ID at the desk.

  • There is no mamasan to translate the rules.
  • A photo is not a person.
  • You have to write first and wait. You cannot just walk in off the street.
  • Her calendar is a real calendar: class, a day job, not an all-night rotation.

How we calculate Trust Level

Age, because the slang is sloppy

Not legal advice. Under 18 is an absolute stop.

Dek sideline is slang for a part-timer, typically around university age. It is not a date of birth, not a costume, and never a request for anyone under 18.

Anything sexual involving anyone under 18 is a serious crime, whatever a chat says. Student on nongfan means an adult at university or college, never a uniform and never anyone under 18. If you are unsure about age, you leave. Licensed entertainment venues are generally for customers 20 and over. A sideline meeting has no doorman doing that check for you. That is a responsibility, not a thrill.

How we use this on nongfan

On nongfan every listing is meant to be a sideline profile: an adult woman meeting on the side of a normal week. We compare what public listings say across platforms, flag photos and facts that do not hold together, and show the result as Trust Level. Nobody can buy a higher number. The scoring is fixed at 25, 20, 30, 20 and 5. We do not change it to make a page look nicer.

Start with higher-trust profiles, write first, agree time, place and money, and treat the night like a meeting between two people. That is the whole point of the word.

FAQ

Is a sideline girl a freelancer?

Not in our vocabulary. Freelancer always means an adult woman working on the street. Sideline girls are found through profiles. They work independently too, which is why people mix the words, but we keep the labels apart on purpose.

Is sideline the same as an escort?

Sometimes people use the words as if they were twins. A real escort agency is a different arrangement: photos held, no-shows replaced, possible refusals. Many pages that say escort are sideline listings with a fancier noun. Believe the arrangement.

Is this about OnlyFans?

No. We do not list OnlyFans or subscription pages. We list adult sideline girls who offer meetings.

Is dek sideline underage?

No. It is slang for an adult part-timer, often university age. Anyone under 18 is off limits, no exceptions.

Is sideline just a lady bar without the band?

No. A lady bar is a workplace with a till. Sideline is a part-time meeting arranged outside any venue, usually online.

Is sideline the next step after a bar?

No. It is a separate way of meeting, not a third stage. Many people enjoy all of them.

Why do you prefer sideline over go-go or the street?

Taste, stated plainly. A go-go is a great professional show. A street freelancer is direct and human. We prefer meeting adult women who do this as a side job beside a normal week, so that is what our directory is built around. It is not a moral scoreboard.

What if a listing asks for a bar fine before we meet?

There is no bar fine on a sideline booking, because there is no bar. The word is borrowed, or invented. Ask what they actually mean, or walk away.
